Bringing A New Puppy Home

As many of you know, an adorable 10 week old puppy joined our family in November.  He’s smart, sassy, full of beans and gives us so much joy.  He is so happy about everything! 

 As any new puppy parent knows, along with all that joy, comes its share of challenges – potty training, sleeping through the night and juggling schedules – to name just a few. 

 So, what have I learned to get through those first weeks/months…

 ·        Don’t be afraid to ask for help or give yourself a break when needed. 

·        Have realistic expectations – understand that both you and your pup will make mistakes.

·        Puppies learn by repetition - keep up your daily practice and reward good choices.

·        Allow your pup to explore at his own pace.

·        Savior this time – it goes by so fast.

·        And most importantly, perfection is not required – just time, effort and love.
